Jeremy B. Bash was born on 13 August 1971, in Arlington, Virginia USA, into a conservative family of Jewish descent. He is a national security analyst as well as a strategic advisory executive, best known for being a former US Department of Defense chief of staff from 2011 to 2013. He previously served as the chief of staff of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for two years.

He stayed there for two years, before joining Panetta as a chief of staff at the US Department of Defense for another two years. With his role there, he worked on numerous initiatives including the formation of two defense budgets, a new cyber strategy, intelligence operations, counter-terrorism operations, and a new defense strategy. After completing his run with the Department of Defense, he founded his own strategic advisory firm with Andrew Shapiro and Philippe Reines called Beacon Global Strategies. The company is focused on foreign affairs, homeland security, and national defense.

Jeremy has spoken on courses and conferences for schools such as the National War College, the American University, and Georgetown Law School. He also made a minor appearance in the HBO movie entitled “Recount”, which is based on the 2000 presidential election recount in Florida. He was portrayed in the film “Zero Dark Thirty” in which he is called and credited by first name only. He was also named in the TIME Magazine “40 Under 40” list in 2010.

For his personal life, it is known that Bash was married to broadcast journalist Dana Bash from 1998 to 2007, who is known for her work as an anchor, reporter, and political correspondent for the news network CNN. Jeremy is now married to the Vice President of the American Hospital Association, Robyn Bash. They have been married since 2009 though not many details are available about their relationship.
