Born Mary Dagen McDowell on the 7th of January 1969, in Brookneal, Virginia USA, Dagen McDowell is a 49-year-old Caucasian business news anchor, TV personality and accountant of Irish descent. She is perhaps best known from her screen time as an anchor on the Fox Business Network, as well as a business correspondent for the Fox News Channel. She has also had a number of other engagements in the news industry throughout her career, having been active in the often lucrative news anchoring business since 1996.

Early Life and Education

Dagen was born into a family of Irish parents, and even though there isn’t much information surrounding their identities, it is known that she has a brother, and possibly other siblings. Her earliest youth thus far also remains a mystery, but there is the fact that she has been a lover of Ford cars from a very early age, and drove a Ford Bronco to both high school and college, as she had her driver’s license from the age of 16, which she was able to obtain by gaining experience in a Ford F150. Thus, NASCAR races are a big part of her childhood, as well as the Washington Redskins American Football team. Concerning her education, there isn’t information regarding her high school or the year of matriculation, but she attended Wake Forest University, from where she graduated with a degree in art history in an unspecified year. It is unknown when Dagen actually took an interest in the profession she has today, but as for her first paid job, she sold beer from a cart on a golf course, meanwhile part-timing as an attendant at a dressing room.

At some point Dagen was first employed full-time as a financial journalist at the Institutional Investor’s Newsletter Division. Later, she obtained the position of business contributor on a radio show entitled “Imus In The Morning,” and another one of her early jobs was the stint she had in the online and printed media, where she wrote for “SmartMoney” magazine and its site SmartMoney.com, and performing the same function for TheStreet.com. In 2003, Dagen finally managed to land a prestigious business correspondent position at the FOX News Channel, where she was regularly seen on “Your World with Neil Cavuto”. Furthermore, she began appearing on various FOX News Channel programs, such as “CAVUTO Live” on Saturdays and “Outnumbered” on weekdays. In September 2007, however, Dagen gained yet another boost to her career when she joined the FOX Business Network as an anchor, appearing constantly on the FOX Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” on weekdays. In 2016, she also took over as the host of “Bulls and Bears”, due to the previous host’s (Brenda Buttner) terminal cancer diagnosis.

When it comes to the romantic engagements of the popular host, McDowell first married an unidentified man on an unknown date, however, it is known that they divorced in 2003.
